Thanks to the generous grant from the Snohomish Education Foundation, over 100 seniors from Snohomish HS had the opportunity to travel to Olympia during the 2009 legislative session to present bills they had written to the state legislature. For the 2010 legislative session, six student groups had their bills sponsored. The sponsored bills ranged from mandatory recycling containers in all public places to chemical castration for repeat sex offenders. Thanks once again to the SEF for their generous support of student learning.

Thank you so much for giving students at Emerson non-fiction books to keep in their classroom.Reading non-fiction takes time, time to read then reflect and read again. Having them in our classrooms will allow that extra time. Thanks again. El Rue

We were so thrilled to find out that we get to purchase Senteo Interactive Response Systems for our 5th, 6th, and 4/5/6 classrooms at Cathcart! The students and I can’t wait for them to arrive so that we can start increasing engagement and receiving instant feedback on our learning. Thank you!

I never cease to be amazed at the intelligence, creativity, and dedication to our kids that teachers in the Snohomish School District exhibit year after year. It would be cool to be a kid again and take part in the Idita-Read program. Way to go, Nancy.

Thank you so much for the Idita-Read grant for Dutch Hill Elementary School. This grant will allow three 6th grade classes to participate in an on-line interactive reading program which follows the Alaskan Iditarod. Students minutes read will match up to miles traveled as they follow a satellite map of how far they have traveled. The kids are excited about this program and gearing up to read along with other "mushers" throughout the world participating in Idita-Read. Thanks again for this unique experience!
